I don't plan on a "K" either......I gave up on 1:20.3.......too delicate for out of doors reality, and real operation. I's nice to see some of the wonderful modelling being dome in 1:20.3, but I have more than enough stuff in !:22.5 to keep me happy for the rest of my life.....

Just got word that an old friend died early this morning REG BILIDOU....he was a terrific machinist and modeler in S scale, later in 1:32......he was featured several times in MR, and won several NMRA awards for his brass locos.....

My most reacent project was a model of a C&O steam tender converted into a boiler car.
The UP did two of these so they could heat the old heavy weigths while pulling with dismels with out on boar boiler facilities. Came out pretty good and it makes pulling heavyweights with an SD45 a little more beliveable.

They called them "Steam Generator Cars" up here....CN had a bunch specially built, and Via Raiol got most of them. They have sice been sold as Via went to HEP.....

That car, as you say; will make hauling heavy weight passenger cars behind modern locos, look believeable........even the Aristo Alco F's don't have steam generators in them......look at the rear of the roofs....no vents...

Found a local supply for bread trays. Local farm is going out of business, and has several hundred at $3-5 a piece, depending on size. I filled up the back of my truck with them this morning. They're big enough to hold 35' 1:20 cars... Now to build the shelving units for them to fit in.

Anyway, the weather augurs have examined the chicken entrails and declared that we are in for another foot or so of snow tonight and tomorrow. Santa's sleigh shouldn't have any trouble sliding this year.
Went out and bought another half-gallon of gas for the snow blower.
Just received Tom Yorke's kit for a box cab, to mount on my AC Critter motor block. Took its time arriving because the Paranoia Patrol decided it was a suspicious object ... aargh.
So I gots me a winter project, if'n I gets time for it. Thinking of putting battery/rc in it, just so I can run it at Fred's ... if I'm ever allowed out.
Anyway, compliments of the season, before I forget .. what was that I was just trying to remember ...?
